About Scotland - Fireworx Scotland Ltd

Founded in 2003 by cousins Aki and Simo Niittymäki, Suomen Pyrotekniikka Oy has developed into Finland's largest fireworks company in just two decades. With almost 300 shows a year, the team now shapes the industry - a particular record was 67 fireworks displays in just one day on New Year's Eve 2019. SPT is also a name to be reckoned with internationally: three-time Finnish champion and multiple awards at prestigious competitions, including victories in Riga (2017) and Courchevel (2020). At the Pyronale in Berlin 2023, the team secured 2nd place and the Audience Award. The biggest fireworks display in Finland's history was unforgettable: the impressive staging for the 100th anniversary of independence on 31 December 2016 in Helsinki. Precision, passion and innovative spirit make SPT one of the leading representatives of European fireworks art today.

Theme of the show

In the rhythm of the Northern Lights - The Dance of Scottish Lights

With The Dance of Scottish Lights the Scottish team presents a tribute to the spirit of Scotland - expressed through light, music and movement. Inspired by the flowing colours of the Northern Lights, an emotional journey unfolds from the country's historical roots to its modern cultural identity.

Opening with „Highland Cathedral“, the production is deeply rooted in Scottish tradition. Majestic images of wide valleys, mist-shrouded Highlands and proud national sentiment are reflected in slowly rising effects - like a northern light gently unfolding in the sky.

Iconic sounds by Scottish artists are combined with a dynamic choreography of colours and shapes. Between rousing energy, humorous lightness and touching moments of tranquillity, an interplay of power and vulnerability is created. Modern beats drive bright explosions of colour, while gentle passages allow delicate waves of light to glide over the Herrenhausen Gardens.

In the brilliant finale, tradition and the present merge into a powerful unity. Bagpipe sounds meet rock rhythms, and the sky over Hanover shines in a triumphant dance of colour and music - proud, passionate and unmistakably Scottish.
